This publication aims at introducing the new technical cooperation module of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s Department of Digitalization, Technology and Innovation (DTI) on Science and Technology Parks (STPs) in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). STPs can contribute significantly to achieving Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development (ISID) and other industrial-related targets of the 2030 Agenda by promoting innovation-driven economic development. The Module highlights their role in strengthening regional and sectoral innovation ecosystems and promoting closer linkages between two distinct and usually separated economies: science and research institutions and industry. By leveraging the synergies of several actors and the potential of the 4IR, STPs facilitate the commercialization of technologies and innovations locally developed, including “green” solutions, which contribute to accelerating the transition from a linear economy towards a circular economy.
